Now that summer is on its way out, autumn begins with a brand new perspective on a number of things. There’s an evolution of our work at GoTriCities, a few changes coming for my work as a musician and I must admit there’s way too much happening on my X-box lately.
Great things going on at work though and that’s consuming most of my thoughts lately as we have hired two new talented individuals in the past month and we have a parade of new ideas getting ready to take flight here in the Tri-Cities.
Yesterday, Matthew Caroll accepted a position as a videographer with The GoTriCities Network and I look forward to working with him as he begins his next assignment on October 22nd. Matthew is from Southwest Virginia and has an excellent portfolio of work seasoned by worldwide travel, a stint at a UPN station in Virginia Beach and work with Tim McGraw on his 2004 tour. Matthew will be developing new videos for our customers websites and I’m looking forward to what may become from this new venture.
A few weeks ago, Jared Bentley began working with our team too and brings the staff up to eight. Jared has plenty of experience in audio and video and begins working our brand new podcast this week. That’s the type of work we’ll be conducting over the next several weeks as we branch out into new territory. Our weekly podcast will focus on the local music scene and feature a group of hosts that include myself, Jared and Tom Bettini. We’ll talk about the scene, what’s going on and I’m sure that will continue to expand too.
I can’t help but feel a bit anxious about some of the new ideas we’re going to be working on. We have great talent on board now and with interesting projects, we should have a season of inspiration. I guess if you’re ever going to usher goals a bit closer, you’ve got to take some risks.
Since Bristol Rhythm and Roots, my music has taken a back seat to technology. My apathy over some of the recent situations has me thinking about something new altogether and I hope to find myself recording soon. I’ve bought a couple of Apple G5 work stations from eBay, a couple of new monitors and have been swimming in books that include better CSS, eBay, Citizen Marketing, Video, Audio and the Tao Te Ching. Not to mention the new Halo 3 and Medal of Honor X-box games that have me completely distracted.
Nevertheless, the life and times are unpredictable and I like it like that.
