This morning: There’s lots of high drama here among the critters at Cate Cabana. I love red-tailed hawks. The locals call them chicken hawks and the academics have a more regal name: Buteo jamaicensis.
This morning, a young hawk was perched on top of a willow tree planted near Lake Lochwood. The cardinals, blue jays, and every woke songbird were sounding the alarm.
Nevertheless, I was able to grab the camera and run out in my pjs to capture some of the threat.
Kelli is still concerned these raptors will develop a taste for cats and dachshunds. Probably not, but I did see one swoop on a bird feeder one day for a mid-morning snack. Happy Mother’s Day – Mother Nature.
