Videos and moving pictures – A couple of treasures

My new MacBook finally reached a point where I couldn’t take it much further. It’s been about six months and I love this new laptop computer and up until now, there has been no problem – at least until I ran out of memory.

Over the past several weeks, I’ve been adding a lot of video to my computer. The GoTriCities Network and the Times-News Online are getting ready to take a leap into video production and this week will begin a new round of interviews looking for a videographer to join our team in Kingsport, but my computer was choking from all the video files.

So, for the past two weeks, I’ve been cleaning off some of the data and making DVDs and You Tube videos and here are two gems recorded last year at the Rally In The Valley at Maggie Valley North Carolina. I was performing with the Reagan Boggs band on this rainy weekend and had some time to record The Bennie Wilson Band and Ivy Road from their set.

Bennie Wilson is arguably one of the Tri-Cities region’s most popular entertainers and here’s a great little music video of him with his band; Gary Southerland on guitar, the great Tommy Starnes on Bass and one wild and crazy Chris Simmons on drums. Bennie is the only musician in Northeast Tennessee to never to have a day job and I love watching him perform.

Jason Lloyd is a memorable talent from Bristol, TN. Together with his friend Linda they perform as Ivy Road in the Tri-Cities and have probably the busiest schedule of any band – for good reason too. Jason is multi-talented and one of the finest piano players in Tennessee. He sings, he plays guitar and there are few that can deliver is Boogie Woogie piano style. He floors me every time he plays and I have the utmost respect for the man that sings Jerry Reed songs!
