FoodCity.com – A new unveiling…

Food CityI was telling attorney Larry Roberts today about how fortunate we were to have great clients at The GoTriCities Network. Each and every day, we truly get a chance to work with some of the best brands and most recognized success stories in East Tennessee.

Last week, our studio launched the new Food City website and it’s a great testament to the talent and efforts of the people that work with me at our agency in Kingsport. Over the past several months, we have completely retooled this grocer website that serves over 95 distinct locations and their customers in East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Western Kentucky.

We’ve completely reprogrammed this from the previous verion and this, their third design has some of our best software features that give Food City designers complete control of the display and content of the website. They have many people who work together on their side to manage the customer service needs this site generates. With over 18,000 unique visitors per month, FoodCity.com is one of the largest commercial websites in East Tennessee. They are very close to being one of the largest employers in the state too with 12,000 on payroll.

Food City is a gem of the region. Their ownership, management and individual stores do more than support their communities – they are the community. Food City’s staff and primary management are all creative natives of the region and grew up the cities that Food City does business in and are passionate about their efforts. They are avid supporters of NASCAR and sponsor races at one of the circuits most popular Spring races. The Food City 500 is in a couple of weeks at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The site itself uses a backend content management system to handle over 1,500 documents, value card applications, employment, weekly ad downloads, extensive photo archives and new products. It’s a great design and the backend programming has been completely retooled as we are unrolling our latest versions of BusinessLogic into the application.

It’s a pleasure to work with this client and I can’t think of a better honor. My grandfather delivered produce in East Tennessee, driving from Knoxville to East Tennessee and particular about his quality and value. Over the years, I worked with Oakwood Markets, one of Kingsport’s last home-owned grocers. It is one of our most meaniful business relations as we work with creative passionate people who provide a household name to the people in five states.
