Friday the 13th At The Down Home in Johnson City – A special CD Release for Reagan Boggs

The Down Home is a regional mecca for original artists in East Tennessee. For decades, this ‘listening room’ has absorbed some of the greatest songwriters of our era. From folk singers, to virtuosos, poets and bar-room desperadoes, The Down Home is a sacred venue.

On Friday, January 13th, 2006 at 9pm, I’ll join Reagan Boggs and the rest of the guys in the band for Reagan’s CD Release Party for her new project called ‘Never Looking Behind.’ If you want to see what all the fuss is about and one of the best singer songwriters to come from this region, join us for a great night of music.

Reagan has been working for over a year on this project. Together, I recall performing her new original songs in many venues. It’s been interesting to watch her shape these songs and put together a talented chemistry of musicians too and this is gonna fun!

The new CD is complete too with some of Reagan’s best original music. With roots in blues, country and Americana, the songs share her experiences from her mountain home. She recorded the new CD in Nashville in the fall of 2005 and along with producer Eric Fritz of Scott Miller’s band, this new recording is staged to open many new doors for Reagan in the coming year and the Down Home will be a celebration to say the least.

Of course, you’ll also enjoy a great band too. The guys I’m playing with right now share a honest commitment to support Reagan as she reaches for the stars with this new music and I can’t wait to play. Jason Crawford will be singing backup vocals and playing his banjo and guitar. Greg Smith who I’ve been performing with at The Vinyard’s Open Mic will be on guitars and Kevin Light will be on bass. Alan Gamble and myself complete the big band sound and this show will set the tone for the year.

Get there early too and make sure to talk to the band. Hell. I’ll buy you a beer if you read this and remind me at the show, but whatever you do….break the routine and support this local songwriter. We’ve got a great show planned and we’d like to see you get out of the house…that is unless you’re afraid of the superstitious holiday? Tickets are $10 each, but hey…don’t forget about that beer offer….
