Tired of the same ole weekend plan? Despite the lack of rain for the last few months, we’re seeing plenty of fall color in the Tri-Cities and none the better than Reagan Boggs this Saturday night – November 5th at The Vinyard in Bristol.
Reagan, a Kingsport/Southwest VA native is getting ready to release her second original CD titled ‘Never Looking Behind’ and will be appearing live with our six-piece band of hooligans at Bristol, TN’s new original bohemia for live original music. We rehearsed last night for the show and Reagan has a couple of new songs that we’re working in from Emmylou Harris to Etta James and they are terrific.
The Vinyard has a great Italian menu that’s well known among Bristol’s natives. Joy Rudder and her staff have been working at a spacious and fun listening room for several months now and are starting to turn some heads with their entertainment and dedication to live local music. I heard they recently knocked down another wall and opened up the restaurant even more – eliminating their banquet rooms and can easily pack 400 in the room.
This weekend, the band will start performing around 9.30, so get there early, have some dinner and hear the new songs from this terrific songwriter. For me, it’s one of the best unique collaborations of players I’ve worked with in quite a while including Greg Smith (Blue Rapture), Jason Crawford (Leisure Time), Alan Gamble, Kevin Light and myself. Besides that, we’re all interested in experimenting with a new cocktail to replace the favorite – and for me personally – I can’t wait to turn up the new organ.
Ok, it’s the middle of the week and consider this your invitation. For me….I’m turnin’ of the tube and going to Open Mic night at The Vinyard and getting away from this computer. More on that later….
OH BY THE WAY….I finished putting touches on the Reagan Boggs live discography and you can listen to a number of live Mp3 recordings by clicking here.
