Pan Man Turns 25 – Am I getting old or what?

It must be one of those moments when age continues to impress itself on my memory. For the past few days, I’ve been remined of a few silver aniversarys.

Pac-Man was 25 years old today. I spent most of my early years in college hunkered over these early video games at Poor Richards in Johnson City. It was there that me and my buds drank ourselves to academic probation too after qwaffing down $1.50 pitchers.

It was funny to see this too. Just the other day, a story about a real world version of this retro game showed up on The BBC and described a project that was mapping out city streets and allowing users to play a version of Pacman in a simluated city scape.

Pretty cool. I sent that to my friend Dan who still plays Pacman most everyday now at Ebaums World.

Last night, Dan Akroyd played harmonica on the David Letterman show and gave a heart felt story about his buddy John Belushi. This is the 25th anniversary of the Blues Brothers movie too and it’s hard to believe that time has passed so quickly.
