Live music in Downtown Kingsport on March 27th…

It was a great night in Downtown Kingsport. Broad Street had an open stage with Bluegrass and the DKA were hosting the annual Evening with The Arts promotion that features Tennessee artisans and downtown business people in a one night black tie affair to view new art and socialize. I was there again this year performing with Reagan.

Good crowd tonight and plenty of gorgeous women indeed…arts fanatics…my favorite.

I met Greg and Reagan about 6.45 and was playing music by 7.00. It was a good gig and the sound was suprisingly appropriate for the room considering Reagan was singing from her guitar amp.

Just down the street, we had to play at Pacific Grill at 10pm. This is a newly opened restaurant downtown uptown bar they call the U.P. Club (The Upper Pacific) at Pacific Grill. The place is decorated with a red neo asian motif and features a nice stage in between chairs, private rooms and trendy bar that makes brightly colored martinis.

It was a great night altogether as my father and his friend, several friends and business associates were in the audience that totaled maybe 100 or so.

Both sets were enjoyable tonight and some of our best music as the band is starting to relax and settle down into a more confident backdrop to Reagan’s music. Great night and in several hours….it’s off to Roanoke to play at The CoffeePot.
