I have received several phone calls over the past two days about the sad news regarding our native son Mike Mahaffey.
The news is sketchy at this time, but it seems he must have died in his sleep. Mike was an incredible guitarist and together with his brother Matt, they made a profound impression in the local Tri-Cities music scene and with their band ‘Self’ went all the way to the top with apperances on MTV and record deals with Geffen.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to family and friends and we hope to gather as much information as we can about this tragic event. Mike was an incredible player and fabulous musician who will forever missed.
