It was one of those days where the clouds moved back and forth between rain and sunshine. We all met in Johnson City before we drove 150 miles to Greenville, SC to perform with Scott Miller and The Commonwealth at The HandleBar- A Listening Room
Sound check was at 6.30 so we arrived a bit early and began to work on a couple of coolers that Jeff Malone had brought for the show. He was there with his video crew taping a show for The Verge. He was busy too moving between interviews and the auditorium and bar, but working his ass off as usual.
Our show started at 9pm and was actually a good set. The songs sounded better than ever, but we all agree that we’re going to need to pick up the tempo a bit on the songs, but we’re hoping that will come along.
This was a cool stage to play and has been a part of Greenville’s nightlife for more than 25 years hosting acts like Edgar Winter, Tinsely Ellis, Little Feat, Spyrogyra, Cake, Ricky Scaggs, Arlo Guthrie, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Yellow Jackets, Joan Baez and others.
